Key Characteristics
  • Opacity: Semi-opaque, meaning they contain less pigment than Citadel Base Paints and let a small amount of the underlying color show through for smooth layering.
  • Consistency: Thinner and more flowing than base paints, which helps build up gradual transitions without obscuring fine miniature details
  • Purpose: Designed to be applied directly over Base paints (or previous Layer coats) on raised surfaces, edges, and high points where light naturally hits the model
  • Packaging: Sold in standard 12ml flip-top pots
  • Range Size: The largest range in the Citadel system (over 90 colors) covering extensive tone progressions for every major faction
